Heritage Day 2015 Fly & Braai!

Heritage day 2015

I had the best intentions to take photo's all day. The airfield was busy both in the air and on the ground. I ended up turning my phone on silent, taking it easy and just enjoyed what Heritage day had to offer. Surely by now it goes without saying that we had yet another day full of flying, fun, family, friends, food, fluids, fuel and f..... braai!

I did manage to take a few snaps before the camera went onto the back burner too!

AIFA came for a visit in full force!

Some aircraft flew in for a braai!

Some just went for a flight.

Early birds soaking up the sun!

All shapes and sizes enjoying a beautiful day at the airfield!

General Aviation in South Africa is part of our country's rich heritage! Lets fly!

Established in 1973, the Stellenbosch Flying Club is located amongst the picturesque mountains and vineyards of the Cape Winelands.

Possibly one of the most beautiful airfields in South Africa, the Stellenbosch Flying Club is popular among aviators and aviation enthusiasts from all walks of life.

If it's not planes, it's bikes! Boys and their toys!

What a beautiful day!

Airfield Manager aka Big Geoff aka Braai Master aka Charlesworth giving us the thumbs up!

Hungry pilots flew in all the way from China! That's how good a proudly South African braai is!

Cold one in hand! What is there not to be cheerful about!

Nothing like a South African "braai broodjie"!

Getting ready to return to the African skies!

It was round about here where I went into relaxed mode and started switching off...

Yip, and that sealed the deal!

Thank you very much to the staff of Stellenbosch Flying Club for being incredibly helpful and smiling all day! Now that is what I call proudly South African!
